I agree. Under Jobs in the full NCM client, there are quite a few pre-defined jobs, including a nightly backup. It is scheduled to back up all nodes by default, but the job can be completely customized. I used it as a daily backup, but also ran manual backups before config changes and maintenance. You can also change quite a few parameters, including retention times, whether or not all backups are saved or just deltas, and many more. Take a peek in there and check it out, and you might be surprised. There is a lot to this module, and it is one of my favorites to administer within the suite of products. As Jiri mentioned, you can get to the config backups quite easily, as they are stored right in a directory structure and are easily identifiable.
