We have a few locations where we have (2) connections to AT&T ASE metro Ethernet, via diverse routes, from different CO's. The problem we are running into is there will be a fiber cut on the other side of the AT&T equipment and we will loose the connection into the ASE Cloud on one of the connections. But because the interface on our equipment does not go down, we do not get the normal alerts. The connection is routed via the other connection and the interface shows up.
Can anyone think of a way to monitor an interface so that we can see, perhaps when it looses EIGRP adjacency, or some other way?
And yes we are trying to work with AT&T on this, and yes, not much luck with that so far.
